Any advice on places to visit in Canada for our family holiday would be greatly appreciated as currently I am not too excited about the itineraries we have been quoted.

The Brief is:

Central or Eastern Canada (my preference would be west coast, but the family would prefer shorter flight times)

Duration up to 18 days

Kids are active, 12 and 15

Budget Circa £15 - 20K. Full package Fly Drive or DIY fine.

I would like to visit Montreal, not fussed about Niagara. Really what would be great would be some recommendation for great places to visit away from the big cities with great outdoor activities, good food and nature watching.

Is there such a thing as a Ranch style holiday in Canada with outdoor activities and good food?

Struggling to get excited about this one so any advice would be great!

Many thanks in advance

You could land somewhere in the east, spend a day to two to acclimatise then grab a Westjet flight to where you really want to be.

May be worth challenging the flight times perception? Vancouver is 9 hours, Toronto is 7.5 hours. There's a lot more to do in BC within 2-4 hours of Vancouver, than there is from Toronto

Alberta for a ranch experience, regards internal flights they are eye wateringly expensive here .

Montreal isn’t worth it. Quebec City is nice but the east coast doesn’t hold a candle to the Rockies and the west coast.

Don’t forget the earth is a sphere, it’s only 8 hours to Vancouver.
