Hi all,

There’s a low-mileage 2012 M6 coupe in Sakhir Orange that’s come up for sale at a dealer near me. Looks tidy and only 39,000 miles.

However, it being an early S63TU engine, is this best avoided? A quick scan of the bimmerpost forum reveals there’s 4 generations of the S63TU motor and it seems by the end of the F10 M5’s life they had sorted out the major issues?

Shall I just stick to my plan and avoid anything pre 2014 for peace-of-mind?

The later the better IMO, early engines had problems, you need a BMW warrantee for piece of mind.

Later definitely better, if in budget.

Be aware though some parts are becoming hard to find, or are factory build only (so you have to wait for the part to be built, 6-10 weeks- ask me how i know).

My old one is back up for sale here and still with low mileage. https://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/vehicle/202501067761152...
Singapore Grey/Sakhir inside

Am sure you could get them nearer to £30k if you asked nicely.

I was thinking of taking a look at this one also, many problems when you owned it? Ideally looking for San Marino blue but could be persuaded with grey….

Nope only problem was with a fuel pump - which they fixed.

It's had £2k of extra sound deadening added to it as well. Nice and quiet on a long cruise.

Ask to speak to Mark Minns @ bmw cheltenham if you are interested.
