Pay off Motonovo Finance in cooling off period - Dealer comm
Discussion
Hi,
Does anyone know what happens to the dealer introductory commission if I pay off the finance on a car I have just bought within the cooling off period? The dealer hasn't done a particularly good job at prepping the car, missold me a warranty (now canceled as in cooling off period: they said it would start after the manufacturer one ends but the agreement is from the date of purchase so I am doubling up) and it was a bit of a lack lusture handover and after-sales support. The paperwork on the finance says they earned c£1k commission from the agreement, if I ring up and pay off the finance in full within the cooling off period (I am only 3 days into the agreement) will the dealer lose their commission?
I took it on finance to de-risk depreciation curves EVs are experiencing but now I have sorted the issues (missing paint due to a scrape on the sill I didn't notice until after pick up, dealer offered to brush paint it but I've got my body man to do a proper job inc removing the dent) and since the car has manufacture warranty on it to solve snags (like water in boot, charge door errors), I am happy to expose myself to future values and simply pay the car off if that means the dealer loses their commission.
I like the car otherwise and don't want to return it, to be fair the dealer stacks them high and sells them cheap so even post fixing it, it's of a similar price to one from a well-prepared dealer anyway, just an initial hassle which I am almost part way through anyway.
Cheers
