AARGH, my remote `s not working

Jumped in my Chim for a spin after it had been idle for about 3 weeks ish. The battery was completly flat, charged it up on the Optimate, battery is now ok. The remote is now sulking and won`t speak to the car, do I have to re align it? or will the battery sort itself out? ( probably wishful thinking!) The batteries in the remote are about 1 year old and show 2.96 volts each, I could change them, but it seems a bit of a coincidence if they have died as well.

It might be worth disconnecting the battery completely for a minute, then re-connecting it again - I assume you charged the battery via the cigarette socket? If so, maybe the alarm needs a complete reset ..... just a thought.
