Can anyone shed further information on what this Device can actually detect on the Maser ?

sorry no, but if you are interested in diagnostic software/tools per se, note that I have recently purchased the ESP Automotive OBDII scan tool and software. Haven't had a chance to use it yet though, been too busy ... hopefully will get a chance over the w/e.

Is that the connection on the PC side or the vehicle side?

The connector wouldn't fit on my new laptop but I've an older laptop with the correct port (serial I think).
