Odd topic I know.

But there seem to be more and more airfields with almost thousands of cars on them every year, I worked at upper Heyford for a few years, and noticed that Bedford where MSV have their track is also full of them. I also used to enjoy the jet taxi days at Bruntingthorpe now totally infested with the bloody things.

Do they ever get sold or scrapped? Seems a complete and utter waste of time just leaving them there for years?

What the hell are they ALL doing there in such numbers?

BCA run a lot of them for end of lease/PCP storage and/or refurb before supplying into the trade as used stock.

Other than that manufacturers use them for new stock storage because parking capacity at manufacturing sites is sometimes limited. These are a relatively low cost flexible secure storage solution.
