Estate Car Under £12k - V90/520d/A6?
Discussion
So I'm wanting to buy a new car - a replacement to my Octavia 1.6TDI - I ideally want an upgrade in refinement / sound deadening / speakers / overall functionality.
Any suggestions welcome - i’m currently considering a 2017 520d with 100k miles, 2017 V90 with similar miles, or an A6. Not super fond of the A6 interior from the age i’d be looking at, unfortunately. I’m also reluctant to get another Skoda - even though I really have enjoyed my current one - I would just like some change, for no real reason, hence no Superb on the list.
I'd appreciate any suggestions - and any things I should know when buying a car with this mileage - am I going to have HUGE repair bills in the next 20/30k miles?
I do 80% of my miles on the motorway, the other 20% are A roads - almost 0 'around town' driving. Most of my drives are 100+ miles. I want something comfy, refined, good MPG, and reliable (I'm buying high mileage to save money - I don't want to have to spend £10k in repairs in the next few years.
Thanks in advance.

Many of these threads tend to go down a certain path and you often only get the negative experiences. BMW wise can't fully comment on the 5 as having tested them each time we've come to replace we've stuck with 3's as the extra 30cm or so just seemed too be long for parking bays (although all your 3 are 5mtr cars so they are what they are). We have however over the last 20 odd years run several 320ds to over 200k with predominately just standard BMW servicing. Could have been lucky but bar a few suspension components that's been it. .
I would say the CLS/E Class with the 3.0d/2.1d:

If you don't mind a CAT car then you can get a good buy:

With the Mercedes look for the Premium/Premium Plus models.

Why does no one talk about Mondeo estates? I'm on my fifth in 30 years. It's got all the room you'll ever need, 180 bhp, 53 mpg and costs £35 in tax. None of them have needed anything more than wear & tear items and it will sit all day at the limit on the motorway. Plus it handles way better than it should.Any suggestions welcome - i’m currently considering a 2017 520d with 100k miles, 2017 V90 with similar miles, or an A6. I tried a 525 but it was no improvement. An Octavia was gutless and liked injectors for fun.
But now I've retired and down sizing nobody seems interested in a quick comfortable estate with 100K for 6 grand - plus you can replace the cambelt and know it's been done and your'e good for another 100K !

The.Mondeo is pretty much the best kept secret in the Ford range these days. I just thought the OP was veering towards the German end of the spectrum. I nearly went for the Mondeo estate but the new Focus estate just pipped it to first place. I tried a 525 but it was no improvement. An Octavia was gutless and liked injectors for fun.
