April 27th Drive it Day Snowdonia Run, departing The Ponderosa Cafe, Horseshoe Pass, LL20 8DR at 11:00 Hrs

Arrive early for a breakfast, chat and look at all the cars followed by a 90 mile drive around southern Snowdonia, approx a 3 hour drive finishing at the Llyn Brenig Café.

This is an AstonOwners.com event. It is free of charge and any Aston Owner is welcome to come along and join in. I will provide route maps to anyone attending.

Plenty of you have come along before and always seem to enjoy the day/weekend. This is the fourth Gathering.

Last year we ran a full weekend event. See video by clicking the link below. This year it is just a day trip as I have a full 2 week tour to Italy already fully booked and fully loaded.

If you are looking to come up for the weekend and need advice on decent hotel. I recommend the Wild Pheasant at Llangollen. Close by and easy to get to. https://www.everbrightgrouphotels.com/wild-pheasan...

Route we will be using is below.

That looks terrific.

Ponderosa Cafe. Haha I’m getting Gunfight at the OK Tea Room vibes.

It is a bit of a motoring Mecca for Cars and Bikes and very pleasant place to be if the weather is on your side. Very busy on a sunny Sunday. And the drive up to it gives you a nice taste for what is about to come if venturing deeper into the great roads of Snowdonia.

Hi All,

I'll add you to my attending list. But there is no fee and you just need to turn up at the Ponderosa before 11. They do a great breakfast by the way.

Excellent, please also take a look at AstonOwners.com website where you will also find lots going on.

Llangollen is walking distance from the hotel. Lovely along the river bank and nice steam train if you have spare time on the Saturday. The Cornmill pub is also on the river and great for food. But book a table in advance if you want one.

Yes, the Wild Pheasant is an ideal place to stay the night before a North Wales / Snowdonia road trip - did one last year. The WP has plenty of good parking and good food / breakfasts.
We did a 2 night trip, first night at the WP and second night at the Mercure Chester(Abbots Well) which is a fair bit north of the WP as we are based in the north of England, hence keeping the trek home shorter.

The WP is one of very few hotels in the area that have the correct kind of parking for our cars. Plenty of space and maneuvering room.

Plenty of choices round Chester for hotels.

I'm sure it's lovely inside and run by lovely people, etc, etc. ... but it does look a bit odd when you've just driven up a mountain road to reach a bleak moorland and you come across an outsized 1960s bungalow decorated with some wagon wheels.

I'm sure the good lady would enjoy a romantic weekend in Wales with a scenic drive through fantastic scenery and meeting lovely people.

The Wild Pheasant is a very nice hotel and you could treat the lady to a stream train in Llangollen or Porthmadog. So many things to do and Llangollen is also very picturesque.
