Didn't really fancy this from the trailer but thought I would give it a go as it stars Sheridan Smith and Céline Buckens who are both pleasing to the eye.

It's about a plane crash on a remote island in the Pacific but it's actually quite good and the back story has piqued my interest.

It's 5 episodes being aired over 5 nights (Sun to Thu) with each episode being released on My5 each night therefore you can't binge it just yet.

It was on a subscription service first, don't recall which one, maybe Prime or Paramount.

Pretty watchable overall, stick with it.

it was dire for me.

the story was like something from a 70s disaster movie - all the usual characters on board airplanes etc.
poor pacing and drama, overacting from the getgo....
and some stretching of storylines right from the start, "tracing credit card transactions" in your bedroom. hmmmm

hehe

We did watch in a lull when there seemed to be very little else about and got drawn in to seeing it through. So maybe my previous comment was swayed by wanting to see how they tied it all up.

I believe it was Paramount.

Because it was on channel 5 i went in expecting what i got, a glossy easy to watch yarn with lovely crystal clear water and beach shots in a drab January. it didn't disappoint.
I never expect much from channel 5, rightly or wrongly, but it certainly stopped me expecting something a bit more Art house Swedish style.
So enjoyed it so far watching with 14 year old son and my wife,

I watched all 5 episodes over the 5 nights .

I have an issue with the following.....

Mike the pilot makes his escape on the raft from the island and Sheridan Smith shoots him with the spear gun , spear goes right thorough his upper chest and yet he still manages to paddle on to the nearby 2nd island and then proceed back to his home island ,with a spear sticking out of his body .

The 2nd island wasn't as far away as the castaways thought but obviously too far away to be visible .

I'm also not sure what Natasha's part was , she was wanting to find Eldridge but for what purpose ?

to kill him or something else ?
Perhaps I missed when she mentioned it .

It was overall tolerable without being excessively long ......6/10 .

I wonder where it was filmed, certain camera angles and interior hotel or external hotel pool shots smacked of Europe to me and a lot of character close ups too... So not so much actual island filming

It was like Lost but less weird and doesn't go on for far too long.

Greece and Bali I think

Not sure what to make of it tbh. The graphics were a bit previous generation flight simulator which made me chuckle. Thought it was okay but nothing more really.

The wooden crate in the sea , magically was up the beach and when they opened it al the cardboard packages were all bone dry , they all seems to have a good supply of clean clothes and from all the other castaway type reality series there were no bitey insects .there was other nonsense as well .

I finally finished watching this last week, it was OK for what it was. The dual timeline thing ruined any suspense. As for the credit card usage tracking from a bedroom mentioned earlier, as it was her sister's card it's conceivable she had access to her online banking. Probably the least good of the three films / series I can think of with similar names.
