Surely it must be illegal for any non-plod, or at least emergency service vehicle, to be stickered up in flourescent check stickers? These fake plod gimps are a real PITA, especially at night when everyone queues up behind them on the motorway.

Annoying isn't it? I religiously followed a stickered up Land Rover at 70mph in a dirty great log-jam half-way to Castle Combe t'other week before realising that the light bar had FIRE written on it in something like ten point arial.

No it isnt AFAIK - there's some bloke who has stickered up a white BMW with full lights, sirens, etc. and he drives around in an authentic looking police uniform - but it's not illegal as he's making no attempt to interfere with people's activity - so he isn't impersonating a police officer policing - he's just driving around in fancy cars and clothes.

Easy way round it is get a GPS speedo. Most cars read over by up to 10% hence they slow to what they think is the speed limit. Hence you can cruise uo to see what it is with youre fancy accurate to 0.000001mph speedo nail on the limit...while the other eye is paying full car and attention to the road of course... and before you know it you're past, Plod/non plod is baulked in and you can have a blast knowing theres no way on earth he can catch you up!

Interestingly (for those who arnt uninterested) my speedo under-reads. 75 on the GPS comes up as 70 on the speedo.

That's true. Its amazing the average speed differentials you get just driving at limit plus 10% on the speedo, and its getting worse.

You can practically see* driver's** nuts shrivelling with respect for authority.

TVR speedo's are a 'guide' rather than an actual measurement

I only ever look at the change up light and GPS speed I dont know if it would come in handy if I ever accidentally went beyond the legal limits (an unlikely scenario) and got pulled.

NIP? nnnnoo. nnnnniii. No. I dont know what it means

I believe that it is actually illegal for a speedometer to under read. It can over read by up to 10% however.

Or TVR just do it on purpose. Inherent fault your honour, unknown to the user!

Not true, a while back on the A38 duel carrageway going from Exeter to Plymout, I was doing bang on (GPS read) 70, overtook a police that was doign 68, and he matched my speed, then undertook and swerved in front of me.

When I looked over in more shock than anything he just pointed at his speedo and wagged his finger. So the real vindictive ones shine through.

Once again my fairth in the police rose bundles that day...

Overtake fake plod get in front of them then slow the pace a couple of mph and let them follow you and watch the frustration on their faces as you steal their thunder
