Did anyone order one of the really cheap Suzuki Swifts last May?

Gateway2lease promised it was a stock order, and then I was told, "I had just missed out" on a stock car, so it would be turning up in June. Then it got pushed to July, then October, then the end of Feb this year!

They said the delay was due to me picking the FoC colour, and I could have one in a different colour from stock for about £50 per month.

Told them to FRO and have sat it out, but it has been a pain as we could have done with it. 1 + 23 for £166 with a £270 fee has almost made it worth waiting for.

I think the real reason is that someone at Suzuki screwed up by offering a really cheap deal on Swifts, which meant they were at risk of missing their EV percentage target.

Also, don't trust Gateway2lease.

To be fair to G2L, they have just been awarded Feefo Platinum Status which takes quite a lot of really good service over many years. So not sure about "don't trust".

Although about 5 years ago, a colleague ordered a Tiguan R through G2L.....less than £200 per month.
There was an issue at the factory with parts, but G2L put him in a hire car for a couple of months.
I'd call that good service.

My pal got his swift in the free colour metallic orange (no solid colour option) at the end of May, he paid slightly more than your deal but got it direct from a Suzuki dealer, think it was the one near his house in Ripon.

He really likes it and enquired about another one but the deal they offered him was not as good as his, they wouldn’t price match.

It seemed you may be correct about Suzuki holding back for electrical target, I heard similar about a Vitara that they held off registering until 2nd Jan.

What irritates me is being deceptive about the delivery dates, and bait-and-switch tactics of saying a car is in stock, then telling me it's ok you can have it in a month. Then another month, then October, then Feb, when they admitted eventually there was a problem with supply. The problem may be caused by Suzuki, but GTL need to be open about it.

Seriously?

"What is the Platinum service Award?
Feefo has presented Platinum Trusted Service Awards to businesses that have achieved Gold standards for three consecutive years. To receive a Gold Trusted Service Award, businesses must have collected at least 50 reviews with a Feefo service rating of 4.5 and 5 between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024."

Not that hard is it?biggrin

I ordered my Suzuki Swift lease via UK Carline. I actually saw the deals available around April/May 2024 but mistakenly thought that was too soon to order. However, I thought it was a cracking deal and ended up ordering one in June as it was still available at the time. I was originally quoted DEC 2024 delivery, then FEB 2025 and the latest update now APR 2025. UK Carline were pretty decent with updates earlier on, however, now I'm not really hearing much and I have to contact them for info. Getting a bit frustrated as I've not really been given an explanation for the delays but as it is such a good deal I'm just sucking it up. Been carless for months now and getting the bus to work sucks. Hopefully comes soon.

My car has been assigned a registration number and I have signed the finance agreement this morning so hopefully my car will be delivered fairly soon.
