No other options, just Yes or No.

No includes all possibilities; natural death, assassination, health, being somehow removed from office - impeached, a revolution, revolt by the party.

Whether things would be any better with Vance taking over is questionable though!

I think no by anything but the 2nd option is possible but having said that any one of the local crazies could try

It seems very unlikely that he’ll be removed from office against his will by any external means. There’s just way too much of a cult thing going on.

I think there’s a near (but not entirely) zero chance he’ll step down of his own choice.
There’s a larger chance he’ll be dead of natural causes, or an assassination. The former will be preferable.

Of course he will.

And then he’ll do another 4.

And within those 8 years his AI project combined with help from Musk will allow him to upload his consciousness to a data centre and become immortal, thus allowing him to be “Emperor of the USA” forever.

I said on the 45 thread that I thought somebody would pot him. He's stiffed so many people, driving some to bankruptcy that his card is definitely marked.

Afraid so, but not sure Vance would be an improvement.

He's a useful front man/distraction so unless he starts threatening to nuke people I can't see them removing him. And he may be a fat inactive lump but he has the best healthcare money can buy. There's no way he'll step down willingly.

So that leaves assassination. I'm sure there are plenty who want to but he has as good security as is possible and, crucially, doesn't need to do the big open air gatherings any more. I know he came damn close during the campaign but now he's been elected they can lock him down much more tightly.

Unless he dies he will be there for his term. He got the popular vote in addition to the frank win against Harris.

He is doing what he said he would do why would the voters remove him from office?

I think we have more to worry about in UK politics.

It might have been better to have a selection of probabilities of surviving eg 10%, 20% etc as I voted yes but only on the basis that he likely has a better than 50% chance but there is a strong possibility he won’t. He has enabled the lunatics to take over the asylum so would it matter that much if he did die?

I have to agree. Trump is a bellend but he was legitimately voted in and, so far, is sticking to his promises.

Who's fantasising about him being assassinated? People are discussing whether he'll last the term. Just like they are on various threads about Starmer.

Very much this, how refreshing a politician keeping his promises.

I have a couple of friends in US law enforcement, they are very happy that Trump won, they say that’s pretty much echoed throughout the whole service.

Is there a way he'd be able to run for a third term? It wouldn't surprise me if he tried to change the law to allow him to run again, his supporters absolutely love him and he gives off crazy dictator vibes to me

Agreed.

“Somehow removed from office - impeached, a revolution, revolt by the party” - eh? The majority of Americans are delighted/relieved that they now have someone in charge who is doing what he said he would do prior to the election so why would there be a revolution or a revolt?

As someone else mentioned, I think we have much more pressing matters at home to worry about. I suspect that on our current trajectory, come the next election the majority of people in this country will be praying for someone a bit more like Trump and a lot less like Starmer….

He probably will get to the end but not given. He'll soon be in his 80s, and very much overweight.

I dont think he'll get assassinated, certainly hope not anyway. But I think he will upset someone or some people way smarter and more determined than him and they will bring about his downfall.

I can very much see him making an attempt to stay in power, or create a hereditary line ala his 'democratic' pal in North Korea

And 50% of the USA would clap like demented seals

Trump is signing executive orders. It doesn't mean they are legal and achievable.

We had someone like Trump - Johnson! Look where that got us!

The only very slight possibility is assassination.

He has fired anyone rubbing against him and fixed the federal judiciary in his favour. He has made himself fireproof.

We may despise him, but a whole chunk of the US adore him.
