Brescia or Bergamo?

We will be driving from Switzerland [Lausanne] to the Dolomites at the end of Feb.
From our start point it is 9hrs and will route over the GSB then pick up the A4 eastwards. Bergamo and Brescia are roughly halfway points, just wondering which would make a better place to spend the late afternoon/evening? Or anywhere in that general area really. A decent Agriturismo would be ideal tbh.
