ID7. How do I stop music? And door locking?
Discussion
Morning all!
I've recently taken delivery of an ID7, and overall I'm exceptionally happy with it! Sure, it's never going to be something that'll bring more huge amounts of driving pleasure on twisty B roads, but then again I'm not convinced that any large, quick modern vehicle will do that anyway, so as a daily driver it is, for me, pretty much perfect.
There are, however, a couple of things that are driving me absolutely bonkers, neither of which have anything to do with the EV vs ICE question!
Firstly, how do I stop the stupid thing from locking itself all the time??? I can understand that some drivers might feel insecure and want the car to automatically lock the doors for them when they set off on a journey, but I'm far more interested in my wife just simply being able to open the door and get in when I pick her up from somewhere without me being forced to faff around with the unlock button every single time! I'm sure it must be possible to turn this off - why on earth wouldn't it be? - but I've been through every one of the many menus and haven't been able to find it anywhere!
Secondly, yes, I know that many functions are only accessible through the infotainment screen on many cars these days, but from what I can see, that includes playing & pausing music!?!? I can skip forwards and back with buttons on the steering wheel, and I can change the volume both on the wheel and with permanent buttons on the central panel, but nowhere does there seem to be a button to actually stop or start the playback??
This is at its worst when manoeuvring in a car park, as once the reversing camera has come on, I can't even pull the top menu down to pause it! This morning I wanted to say something to a pedestrian in the car park and the only way I could do it was to actually turn the volume right down! Surely that can't be right???

I have the same issue when reversing and not being able to change anything else until the camera reverts to 'normal' (I'm in a RR). However there is a speaker decal on screen which if I touch shuts off all audio. Does the ID not have one?I've recently taken delivery of an ID7, and overall I'm exceptionally happy with it! Not that I can see! It has a power off button which powers off - I assume - the whole infotainment system bar the reversing stuff, but I've not yet tried that without the reversing cameras on!I've got a VAG infotainment system in a Skoda Superb, and no, there is no simple "off button" for the radio or whatever music is playing. It's infuriating. The round "off" knob shuts the entire thing down. If I have my Google maps on the display through Android Auto, and the radio playing, and want to switch the radio off, I have to press the "Media" button on the side, then the "App" button to get my satnav display back. In my other car, a Nissan Leaf, the "off" knob will just switch the radio off and leave the screen displaying whatever else is displaying, instead of turning the entire system off. Which is far, far better.
I love my Superb, but the infotainment system is very sub par. Worst thing about the car by a long margin.

We've got 2 Audis, both petrol not EV but both have a stop/start function for music on the steering wheel volume control, also works to stop traffic 'interruptions' and, IIRC you can also do the same by pressing the volume control on the centre console?
Both can also have auto locking disabled if required though I quite like that function.
I find them really easy to use but, maybe they messed that up for the EVs in the name of progress...

Normally if you press and hold down the lock button on the door panel it will change the setting for the auto lock at speed
Or it might be within the infotainment under speed sensitive locking
Turning off the music, usually if you hold the down volvume button it will mute the audio until you unmute it again

Ooh thanks! I'll give those a try! Or it might be within the infotainment under speed sensitive locking

Does the second pause the audio, or just mute it?
