Renting a performance car, classic or camper

Has anyone on here got experience of any specialist or peer to peer renting options, or if not any companies that rent something quick or interesting that isn't brand new?
For context, a couple of friends from Mallorca are flying over in late spring and want to hire something interesting and quick to go on an NC500 road trip with us (we'll be in our XFR-S, but have dogs, so not room for 4 in one car).
The alternative is we hire a largish camper, or a couple of smaller classic VWs, but again option seem limited?

Just to warn you a large percentage of the roads on the NC509 are of terrible quality. You can consider a road with half the tarmac missing a decent road, some of the roads on Skye were more potholes than road. Not nice doing 15MPH trying to steer between them when you have a local up your chuff.
It made me wince in my £3k shed plus I bent a wheel, personally I wouldn't want to do it in any expensive sports car with hard suspension that I either cared about or had a large XS on.
I would imagine after the recent winter they will he even worse. All IMHO of course.
If I was doing it again I would want a Range Rover, not some sports car.

te we have here makes it so unappealing to even get my nice car out of the garage to drive it here. Summed up by your post. I did most of it in 3 days in May 2023 in a lowered BMW Z4M with coil-overs and nothing broke!
Timeline was limited to allow for people who were still working so it was more about driving than admiring the scenery, even though much of it was stunning.
We set out from Inverness and there was a place renting camper vans nearby, but rented campervans were the biggest obstacle as few renters seemed to know how to reverse into passing places.
So I suppose it depends on whether you want to "make some progress" where possible or just drink in the views.
Either way it was a fantastic experience that I hope to repeat.

Thanks, I'd already had a quick look at that site, but dismissed it as it seemed to be mainly older stuff, and the site makes it out to be for hiring cars for events like weddings, TV, photoshoots etc, often chauffeured by the owner!People list their performance and classic cars for rent. Looking in more detail, there are modern classics and some performance cars, but most of the interesting performance stuff isn't really for rent for a road trip; it's for events, weddings and photography only...

. I've done several European and UK roadtrips, both in hire cars, and more recently in my own car. Ideally we want to be "making progress", but as they dont have a decent car, and it would be a hell of a trip to get over here and to Scotland, I foolishly said I'd look to see what was available!
I've hired interesting (ish) stuff in Europe, the USA and South Africa before, but there seems to be less choice now, and like everything the prices seem to have rocketed post Covid.
We might do Wales, or Devon/Cornwall, as I think the NC500 is too far, and the hire car situation is more complicated than I thought, so a shorter trip and closer to home would make more sense.

That's great, will have a look, it's the sort of thing my mate would be interested in hiring.FYI Top Gear did a trip in the Grand Tour, season 3 Episode 7 that will probably be quieter than the NC500.

We are talking about routes closer to my home now. I've taken over the planning of that as I've done several trips through Europe down into Italy and Spain, through Germany, France, Belgium, and across the Alps and passes. It takes quite a bit of research and planning to do well, best roads, accommodation, access to parking etc.
He can do the car hire part, as he needs the hire car
