Guys, please weigh in to help settle a buying debate. Which is the more engaging/fun car to drive, out of the above estates? The Leon in question can either have the 1.4 TSI engine (1257kg car) or the 2.0 TDi 184 lump (1340kg car). Let’s forget refinement or luxury for now; is the Seat notably better than the average fwd VAG yawn fest? Is the Beemer still the better steer, despite being circa-1500kg?

Meither are a fun drive but both are competent with the BMW just edging it.

If you go for the Seat the 2.0tdi is the one I'd go for.

Always thought the centre exit exhaust on an estate was a silly choice. You can't have a tow bar to hold a bike carrier and if you let it warm up to defrost and load the boot you get warm legs.

Personal preference would be for the Seat Leon although 2.0TDi rather than the 1.4TSi.
I personally prefer the looks of the ST, although needs to be in FR spec at least.

Another VAG option would be the Octavia VRS estate...

Depends if you want FWD or RWD...
