Universe expansion not looking unified
Discussion
"" By observing over a thousand Cepheid stars in galaxies up to 130 million light-years away, the researchers have confirmed the reliability of Hubble's measurements across the cosmic distance ladder, thus ruling out measurement error as a cause for the Hubble Tension and suggesting a profound mystery at the core of our understanding of the universe's expansion.""

I'm sure I posted about how the universe not expanding could be caused by lumpy space.
Definitely interesting times.

Totally agree. I see no reason why the great "out there" should be consistent from end to end and from side to side. There was a time, not long ago, when people thought it was (a) an empty vacuum, and (b) never changed - which most observers now believe to be nonsense.Super Sonic said:
Don't think this actually means the universe isn't expanding. Doesn't it just confirm Hubble's original measurements?
My understanding is that the universe is not expanding equally in all directions and there seems to be massive discrepancies that currently can't be explained. The other article I posted was about space not been uniform. I guess it points to a lot of things that needs further investigation.I would say this could potentially be next big game changer in the astrophysics.
