I’m bored as ever and was wondering about opps in this sector. Would like a challenge and enjoy working out new solutions to problems.

Given that they are supposed to be the key to UK prosperity does anyone know much about the operational workings of them?

Besides the IT hardware and specialist power supply & distribution that I’ve read about are there any obvious supply chain opportunities people can see?

You could pop along to the Data Center World Exhibition at the Excel in early March:

You might get some ideas about the stuff that goes into a data center. It's mostly pretty techy though unless you're into supplying stuff like tywraps.

What are you looking to do exactly in the data centre world?

Smuggling graphics cards into sanctioned countries for their AI farms?

Think Nicholas Cage in Lord of War but with Nvidias instead of Kalashnikovs.

Not sure exactly what you are looking for.

Most of the datacentres in the UK are providing the building, security and power to companies that rent either individual racks, or rooms / cages of racks.
Whilst a number of datacentres can provide their own IP networking, most companies will build their own BGP network, taking diverse feeds from a number of different network providers and blending those into their own network.

My company has racks in two separate datacentres in London. Happy to answer any questions you might have.
