5 cars into 1 - £30K - Is there anything but a 997?
Discussion
Between myself and my dad we have 5 cars, these are:
1.2001 Caterham Megagrad spec track car
2. 1988 Caterham with a lotus twin cam (Bought as a project, needs an engine rebuild) Big valve engine, elan sprint gearbox and back axle
3. 2015 Fiesta ST2 - Mountune 2015, just had a cambelt and all new brakes and brake lines
4. Peugeot 107 - Bought a year ago to use for 12 car rallies never did
5. Fiat 500 - Family member wanted rid so we took it on
We currently don't really use any of them, the fiesta gets used at the weekend every now and then. We are thinking about selling all 5 and putting them into 1 car. Value is give or take £30k by the time we sell a few spares and things we have.
A couple of years ago i had a 996 which i loved so im thinking about a 997 (Would ideally want 2 wheel drive, aero kit, manual)
I have a 2 year old so a back seat would be handy (i know this is tight even in a 911) but does anyone else have any other suggestions?

Easy one comfortably in budget as well,
F87 M2 (recommend the N55 car).
More fun than the ST. Run all day on track with just fluid and pads. Has proper back seats and useable boot unlike the 911. OG N55 cars are very reliable and will be 10-15 years newer than equivalent priced 911s. Breadth of ability is brilliant without really giving anything up.

A 911 will get tiring with a 2 year old & car seat in the rear.
Better off with something fun but with more rear space. M2?
I have 2 OEM porsche car seats in the back of my GT3 which fits my girls, and they love going on school runs in it. However, it's a right pain getting them in and out to do the 3-point belt, plus hassle getting them ready (they can only put their coat on outside the car, not great in the rain), plus the risk of door dings from the sea of oversized SUV in the school carpark! I only use the GT3 for the weekend leisure trips now (weather permitting) and use my dull but convenient Octavia for all the daily duties.Better off with something fun but with more rear space. M2?

Just keep the Fiesta and sell the rest. You've just spent some money on it and the back seat is useful for the toddler.
Not quite the answer i was looking for.....Belle427 said:
The Fiesta and Caterham make a pretty good 2 car garage really, I am a big 911 fan myself but i do not get excited by the prospect of owning one for some strange reason.
Nissan GTR, M2/3 maybe to name a couple, will it be a weekend car?
Caterham and fiesta do make a good 2 car garage but i cant take the little one in the caterham so time to use it is next to none and after having 5 caterhams over the last 12 years i feel like i want a change. i also feel quite vulnerable in one on the road these days with increasing amounts of people in big SUV's on there phone's. GTR's seem a bit out of budget, M2 i hadn't considered Nissan GTR, M2/3 maybe to name a couple, will it be a weekend car?

Putting a 2 year old in the back will be a once maybe twice a month thing. We have a seat ateca family car and i have a van for work so it wouldnt be used every dayBetter off with something fun but with more rear space. M2?

What age did they start going in the seats? and is yours a 997? Mine would be putting her in the back once/twice a month at most ScottDab said:

As soon as my eldest was big enough to fit safely into a Group1 car seat, which was a M&P Protech car seat I used in the Lotus. Luckily, it fitted like a glove in the rear of my 996 too. Both kids are now big enough to fit into the Porsche Tequipment G2/G3 car seat. Gassing Station | Car Buying | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
