First time visitor and going for a week

Any recommended places to go on a medium budget? Ideally want local, authentic places....where the locals go?

Not into tasting menus or Michelin star type outfits

Thanks

Restaurants in the Trastevere area were excellent when we visited.

Roscioli. It is small so you need to book in advance.

It's worth asking the hotel or B&B where you intend to stay. Hotel recommendations are often good, and they tend to favour authentic local places, in my experience.

If they are prepared to make the booking for you, so much the better. Many Italian restaurants, particularly the small ones, don't have online booking. DO book ahead though. More popular restaurants are often full and, even if they aren't, they will turn away those without a booking. Because Italian.
