Lambda sensors - part numbers

Hi all,

Does anyone have any idea what the part numbers is for the lambda sensors, and where is the best (best = cheapest!!!) place to get them...or can i by pass them temporarily while i decat the car which i will be doing over the next few weeks???

For a sensor...thats it...project decat is stepped up a gear...remove cat = remove sensors!!!

Hardly seems worth replacing them if you're planning to throw them away in a few weeks, are you planning to have the ECU remapped then? If not, it's going to run like cr@p unless you keep the lambda sensors.

You can buy them from various places, for example I got a couple recently from www.ntksensors.co.uk/ LandRover part no ERR6729 ntk part number 11123 £84 +VAT. I'm sure there are better deals out there, I suspect you could get this down to £75 if you shopped around, and probably half that if you went to a generic sensor.

i thought if you decat the car you just needed to change the tune resistor to make up for the lack of lambda sensors???

£80 seems much more reasonable!!!

Only if the 'non-cat' map has already been set up to suit your engine. I understand from Mark Adams that TVRs usually do NOT have the non-cat map set up correctly as standard. If you just change the tune resister on a standard engine, the fuelling will be all over the place.

Well i have shopped around and have got it to £85...looks like i will have to bit the bullet so to speak and part with some more beer tokens.

I shall look into de-catting the car in a bit more detail as you have blown away my idea as to what i thought needed to be done Greev8s!!!

Hi Chaps,

I have changed my tune resistor on my 5L griff, you just have to change the resistor, adjust the AFM slightly and thats it!! Llamdas disconnected, runs superb!!!

Is that on a standard TVR chip? Based on past comments by Mark Adams I'd have expected that to be extremely lean at the top end.

Lig,

So you just did the tune resistor and disconnected the lambdas and it runs ok?
I shall give that a go tonight...i have got some spare resistors at home....and i take it you just adjust the allen screw at the back of the AFM.

This probably doesn't matter to you since you're about to toss them, but I would point out that this will knacker the cats and lambda sensors and is not generally a good thing to do.

Hi Chaps,

I had bad shunting problems at low revs and at about 4k revs, it used to hesitate for a second and then go (as though it had turbo lag).

I had a MA Tornado chip fitted (on the condition that i could send it back) and it felt a lot better but not as good as with the GTR fitted??!! So I sent it back.!

Yes i feel a bit uneasy about running the GTR as people say it could burst into flames etc, but I have had it like this for about 5 months and have done about 6 hillclimbs and it pulls and runs great - sooo much better than standard, in fact i would say its 'acceptable'.

I am about to buy a new ECU so am going to reconnect the WTR and possibly buy some new llambas and see what this feels like - but one side of me says 'just forget you have the GTR fitted and enjoy it'!!

I managed to get my replacement sensors from gendandirect.co.uk for just over £75.

The original part on my 5 ltr was marked as Lucas (NTK) D3G and has 3 wires (Red, Black, white).
I was told that this is the same as Lucas part NTK ERR6729 as used by some Land Rovers and Range Rovers.

This equated to part number LB1105 with gendandirect.co.uk.
Grant at gendandirect.co.uk was very helpful in tracking down the right part for me and the sensors arrived the next day.

I'd certainly recommend them.
