Dar es Salaam. One night. Which hotel?
Discussion
Hello!
Please can you suggest a good hotel in Dar es Salaam, which is close to that city's 'must sees'?
We're off to Zanzibar next week. During our holiday we will be staying for a day and then overnight in Dar es Salaam, having arrived by ferry at the port from Zanzibar. On the face of it there's several hotels that look great value for money. However, we would rather stay somewhere 'in the thick of it' rather than a hotel in the business district. A Mid range price will suffice. Though, as it's only for one night.........
What do you suggest?
Thank you.

I only stayed 2 nights, same as you after getting back from Zanzibar and before heading to Arusha to pick up a safari.
It's right on the front as the name would suggest but it was clean, friendly and they do your laundry for you which at the time was handy as I ate something dodgy before getting on the ferry

There was another we had lunch at which I'll see if I can find on Google. There seems to be some pretty ropey ones in the general area, not that we stayed at them but remember thinking I was glad we didn't. I'm going back a few years though.
Which safari are you doing? My time there still stands out as one of the most fantastic holidays I've been on from start to finish. Saw some sights you only ever read about, both bad and good.

Lovely food, close to the ferry
