I need to purchase some electrical car parts from New Zealand, they are designed by a company over there.

I’m a little confused on the import tax, I’ve had a look and on one hand it says there’s a free trade agreement, will I still have to pay VAT?

The goods are $650

You will pay local taxes in NZ and UK Duty Charge and Import Fees.
I got stung retuning from long holiday with a bike that I bought out there and was posted home while I travelled home the long way without the bike.

So if the parts are $655, $ 32 shipping, so around £310

any idea what I could roughly pay ontop

To buy the uk equivalents I’ll be paying around £1200 but without the shipping delay

Make sure the exporting entity in NZ doesn't charge you NZ GST (equivalent of VAT) of 15%.
