Does anyone here have a Sinn watch? My brother is thinking about the one in the photo and I was just wondering what the PH experts think of the brand.

I've never really seen a bad review of them, meant to be a nigh on perfect tool watch.

If they did a 42mm 556 i'd get one myself.

Not one of their tool watches, but I picked this up from the now defunct Page & Cooper back in 2014. It's a fantastic watch for the money and always gets positive comments. Would love to add a U1 to my collection at some point.

Also got a chance to visit their factory in 2015, kindly organised by Jonathan at P&C. Their attention to quality/detail is fantastic.

I'm no expert but I do think the quality of my Sinn is very good, especially for the price.

The 556 is one of 'the' tool watches I think.

I have a 144 St S Anniversary II (chronograph):

And I've just ordered a U1 SDR with Tegiment:

In my opinion they are great tool watches, and I find the utilitarian aesthetic appealing. Accuracy on my 144 is also good at +2s per day.

Its nice. Well made.

I’ve got a 356, bought 2nd hand as a sort of poor man’s IWC, a nice watch, not as solid as my PO, but it only cost £500, so horses for courses!

757 here, bought used from a PHer. They were discontinued a few years ago mind. Decent watches & brand, it's rare to hear anything negative I think.

3 in my small collection I'd say if I was forced to cleanse my whole collection and keep 1 watch it would likely be one of the Sinns.

I like Sinn watches but for durable tool watches I think Damasko takes some beating. I have a Damasko DA34 on the factory ice-hardened steel bracelet, and both case and strap are completely scratch-free after nearly 10 years of wear as a daily beater. Damasko cases and bracelets are beautifully engineered and so hard wearing.

Sinn also have case and bracelet harding on many of their models

Indeed Sinn call it tegimented...incredibly high vickers rating.

Very underrated tool watches. I love the engineering-led philosophy of the company. Also not worn by status seekers which is a big bonus in my book.

I've owned a 203 Arktis for 15 years and worn it almost every day. Serviced once in 2020, keeps perfect time if worn all day. Such a unique thing: argon filled (although I believe they use nitrogen these days), drying capsule, tested to low pressure/ high pressure/ magnetic/ temperature extremes, ice blue galvanised dial, what's not to like.

I see some online criticism of rising prices across the brand although my personal view is they've historically been exceptional value because they don't have the marketing budget of big luxury brands. One might argue that finishing is not in the major league yet.

I purchased a new Sinn 104 from Chronomaster around 6 months ago on a fine link bracelet

Absolutely delighted with it - for a mechanical watch the accuracy/time keeping is stunning, I hardly ever need to adjust it.

Feels like to the only watch you would ever need and it's not 'shouty'
