Laon, Northern France - anyone stayed/eaten?
Discussion
I've stayed there for a Folembray track day. The old town is pretty with good views from the walls across the surrounding countryside. The nicest restaurant we ate in was Zorn Le Petit Auberge, but that's down by the station in the new town. The new town is definitely not pretty. It's a bit of a hike back up the hill to the old town afterwards. I say Laon is fine for a stopover for one night, but no longer than that.
We went to the Laon Classique last year and stayed in here - https://www.hoteldesfrancs.fr/en/
It's a 30 minute drive to Laon and was very comfortable with good food. I'd use it again for an overnight.

St Quentin is just up the road from Folembray - I came across the circuit by accident when stopping off in St Q last year. Whilst there are the usual out of town motels, check out Le Florence hotel in the town centre - it has some parking & is a short stroll from bars and restaurants in the central square. I have stopped in Le Florence many times - it's independent & the optional buffet breakfast is great value, there's a small bar on site too
