Has anyone else had aggro dealing with Tyre Leader ?

Long story short, i ordered and paid for 3 tyres at the end of January in 2 x separate orders.
The first 2 tyres were sent out by APC couriers ( who I have heard some horror stories about ) the driver apparently came twice, but no answer ( there is Always someone at the address ) the driver made zero attempt to put a card through the post box, to say he had been, or to call or txt me either.

I rang APC who basically aren’t interested, the guy just said “ Il speak to the driver “ what a joke.
He told me that the tires had been sent back to a company called “ TTC Distribution RG 10 9QJ “

The 2 tyres have apparently now been returned to stock ( TTC Distribution ?? ) and Tyre Leader have the bloody cheek to tell me that they are keeping Euros 30 per Tyre, so 60 bloody Euros !

There is also no sign of the other Tyre that I have ordered either.
T Leader take an age to reply to e mails and I can’t seem to see any way of calling Tyre Leader either.
Any advice anyone ?

This is what happens when you don't support local suppliers.

Heard loads of horror stories about MyTyres recently.

Don't know if they're connected.

I had an issue with Tyreleader a couple of months ago - ordered four all season Contis for Mrs DSs SLK. Staggered sizes. Two arrived in less than 24 hours - sent from the UK by a place called Eden Tyres.

The others weren’t in stock. Utterly infuriating as I ordered from them specifically because they said they were, I ended up having to order a set elsewhere. Got them on the third attempt.

Get a c/card, even if only for use for large-ish purchases (and ALL online purchases) and then paid off in full each month.

Bit late for this one, but c/card protections are greater than d/card protections and will usually get you out of st like this.

Absolutely this!
I have an Amex for petrol/supermarkets/general shopping, Visa card for outlets that don't accept Amex, & a MasterCard for pretty much all online shopping. Even if the MasterCard is compromised & I need to cancel it, I still have other payment options.
PAY IN FULL EVERY MONTH!!!! Easy to set up DDs for all of them & Amex does cashback.

19 days and Still no bloody tires.

This morning I contacted my bank and opened up a dispute, they have just refunded me the full amount for the 2 separate orders.
However, Tyre leader can dispute this, I won’t know for a week or so.
I also mailed Tyre leader re where is my second tyre order.
Then just now an e mail comes through saying “ we are now going to charge you Euros 30 “ but nothing as to what this referred to and nothing re the second tire and it’s whereabouts.

I’m done with Tyre Leader, will Never use them again. Utterly disgraceful service from them.
And their useless courier APC and their lousy agents.

I’m now trying to find a replacement tire for the second order as we need it to Mot the car.

What made you choose them over say another supplier like Blackcircles or a local physical tyre shop? Was it purely price driven?

The 30 euros sounds like a restocking fee, which is probably in the T&Cs.
Anyway, you got your money back and hopefully it won't be contested.

I’ve used Tyre Leader for years, without problem apart from about 6 years ago, when 1 tire was stolen by the courier ( who blatantly lied and said that he Had delivered the tire ) it took me 4 plus weeks to get a refund from Tyre Leader and a fair bit of agg.
I’m Trade, so have to buy competitively.

Debit cards are protected too. I've used the facility. I think there is a min £50 or £100 spend. Call your bank and ask. Mine refundeda disputed amount immediately, then went through the details etc

That is bks. I bought 2 tyres today off blackcircles (so not local) - £102 fitted price, each. Phone my local place which is well established and busy and they wanted £117 each. I asked if they would move on price but weren’t interested and said “that’s the price”.

They lose out.

Having previously been involved in the tyre trade for many years (family business). Tyre Leader/My Tyres etc would be selling to the public cheaper than our wholesalers would sell to us (and that was looking at 4 of the major UK wholesalers).
