HI,

I'm slowly decorating a new house and the previous owners have got emulsion (I think) on the uPVC windows from prior decorating.

Any tips on what is the best product to remove please? uPVC is brown so I am a little nervous re: staining.

Thanks,
Matt

Try scraping it off with a hard plastic scraper or very, very carefully with a not-sharp-enough-for-oak chisel.
With any luck, it will mostly flake off.

Start with the softest thing you have and get harder (oo er) till it comes off (missus!).
I'd begin with, say, a wooden spatula borrowed from cook. Then plastic, say windscreen ice scraper. Lastly something metal, blunt is better than sharp..

I hate this - went round my whole house carefully scraping it off - they also didn't remove the electrical sockets/switches so they got scraped too, even the underside - but i just undid them first and pulled them from the wall.

I used this when I did some decorating and got some on the UPVC. It says it doesn't work on paint but it did for me, guess it was water based.
