Shower Cartridge Removal

The cartridge on our shower is leaking from the spindle in the centre:
I've removed the ring that's held on with the 2 allen bolts, as well as the plastic ring that was underneath that.
Pretty sure it's a Tivoli 2, and I think it should now just be a case of pulling the cartridge out - but it's not budging.
Any ideas on the best way to remove it without damaging too much?
