Theoretical Parking Ticket Question
Discussion
Full disclosure; I will ignore demands for penalties from privately run car parks if I'm caught without a ticket but I do pay council parking fines without fail. Now that's out of the way, I wondered what would happen in the following scenario. This hasn't happened by the way, this is totally theoretical.
You're parked on the high street, say it's a 30 min limit. You stay over and return to find a ticket on your windscreen. A little way down the road you can see the parking warden doing his rounds. You remove the ticket, catch up to the warden and politely explain you found this ticket blowing around in the gutter or whatever - you thought it would be remiss of you if you didn't make him aware of it.
You return to your car and drive off. It might help your escape if you move the car out of the way first to avoid the awkward situation of the warden returning to your car in lockstep with you.
If the warden has the issued ticket in their possession and the car has vanished, what happens?

You obviously speak from experience, so tell us how you've got on so far with ignoring these demands?28 days after issue, time to apeal/pay is up. The council will approach the DVLA for registered keeper details and send a postal pcn to reg keeper. There will be photos of vehicle there and photos of pcn affixed to vehicle.
This letter will allow 14 days to pay reduced rate. If after 28 days from letter being sent, nothing happens (payment or appeal), it then goes on the legal path and the amount due starts going up.

Someone, probably a student at the local college as they're thick as planks when understanding parking regulations, thought it a joke to take the ticket off their windscreen and put it on mine (I happened to glance through the kitchen window as they did it).
Was I worried? Not for a second; earlier I'd driven up as it was being fixed to the student's windscreen and watched all the photos being taken.

They already take pictures and record the plate so it just get snail mailed to you, assuming you're the registered keeper.
This. I sat in my town square and saw a traffic warden nab 3 cars for parking. He took at least 3 photos of each car, one of those photos included the car and the sign in the same shot.Gassing Station | Speed, Plod & the Law | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
