All,
Picture the scene....A "friend" of mine, joined the A130 heading home on a Sunday morn around 10:00. Not many cars around on the dual carraigeway (the nice new bit) so decided to open it up a bit. A little while later he noticed the BIB on the hard shoulder with a "gun" in his hand pointing up the road where he had just come from. Upon seeing the policeman, he un-wound the throttle and looked down.....only to discover he was still doing around 120. Now the policeman didn't even flintch. About a mile down the road, he spots another police car, which was in the process of "helping" out another motorist.

Do we think I, sorry, he got away with it? Or do those guns carry cameras? Been told that the idea behind the second car is to nick anyone who gets radioed through from the first car?
Your thoughts please!
Cheers,
Chilli.

Considering you passed your test a few weeks before I did, you've got bigger balls than I have to be doing those speeds already

I think you must have been very lucky, but remember 6 or more points in your first 2 years and you get to redo the test again.

If you got such a suprise when you saw that speed imagine the suprise if it had been an obstruction that you needed to stop for or avoid......

Sorry to do the sensible bit but take it easy to begin with so you keep yourself and bike in one peice

I read somewhere that it's incredibly difficult to 'get' a bike with a gun as the angles are all wrong on it.

I reckon you'll/he'll be fine...

The 6 points and lose your licence thing only counts if he'd just passed his bike test from a 'green' licence. I assume you got your bike licence a long time after your car licence, so therefore upgraded from a 'pink' licence.

The 2 years / 6 points rule only counts for the first 2 years after your first 'full' qualification, any additional categories gained thereafter are exempt.

As for getting away with it, 50/50 chance.

Absolutley! Love her to bits, but she is so anti bikes it's unreal. Can be difficult sometimes, but the sooner she learns the better!!!
