Per title, mundane but irritating!

I go for thick socks which don't hole easily, and every time I take them off at the end of the day I spread black fluff with every footstep. I go for thin socks & my talons put holes in them.

Any recommendations for where the middle ground sits?!

Aye; nail clippers.

I prefer thick white socks. Steel-toe boots for work dictate maximum comfort is needed.

Buy socks the same colour as your carpet then the fluff won't show.

Marry someone who knits.

Knitted socks are brilliant.

When you buy any new socks turn them inside out and stick them in the wash, should get rid of any fluff when you wear them next.

Go for higher quality?

I used to wear their Tiago socks for formal wear. Noticeably softer materials, a tighter weave and more durable than high street socks.

This. I keep my nails short, and the best way to get rid of fluff is in the wash.

There was a lad at uni that would only wear socks once. He'd put them on at the 1st day of the month, then take them off and put the new pair on the next 1st of the month.

Pretty much what I do, or M&S, the brighter and more colourful the better, current ones are green with Tiger heads on.

And to annoy you lot even more, I wear my trousers/jeans so that my socks are visible.
