Given what Trump is doing in the USofA and with his ‘bromance’ with Putin, how far reaching could this get, ie will we be seeing a new genre of films where the baddies come from Europe and Americans have teamed up with Russia and China???

I think films are going to get a lot less woke. My partner works for a company where their main market is the USA and they are already being advised internally that they need to make their books less diverse and woke for fear that they might lose their contracts.

China's been putting money into Hollywood for a few years now so nothing new there really. I was going to say we might see Europeans becoming the bad guys now but that's pretty much always the case already isn't it?

It is interesting because it seems like the UK is a huge part of the Hollywood machine, at both ends of the camera. We provide a lot of writers and crew; they shoot a lot here and of course there are loads of British actors.

The big-money end of the industry is a purely profit-driven machine so I'm sure they'll tone down the more intentional provocations regarding race and gender, if that's the way the winds blow.
