Two years ago the crazy basthards built this cycle lane on lane 2 of the North bound M5 marking the lane with green paint
Fortunately to my knowledge no cyclist have attempted this mad live lane route at least I have never seen any .

Some people say cyclists are stupid but they have been wise avoiding this cycle lane

I can't say I have ever noticed it ? There is a cycle path on the south bound side IIRC, but on the other side of the barriers, not in a live lane.

Which is two-way for pedestrians and cyclists according to the signs at the north end.

You are absolutely spot on but that's for the bike lanes on the pedestrianized sides of the bridge

This is a green lined cycle path on North bound lane 2 and its very important that you keep an eye out this week
We dont want you pressure washing a Trek racing bike off your paintwork

Where on the M5 is this?
Share a Google map link please.

At the moment the only reference to it online is this thread on PH. Without evidence, I'm calling spam or troll or outrage AI bot.

It's not a bike lane - there's no access Northbound for any pedestrians or bikes to enter/exit the bridge from what I remember. They have their own dedicated lanes southbound, and if you look at google maps you can see the path...

Google suggests that the green lines are for heavy loads:

https://www.constructionnews.co.uk/sections/news/b...

Until the strengthening work is complete, AILs must cross the bridge while following the green line literally a line of green paint which marks the position of the web inside the box girders. This is where the box girders are strongest, and keeping heavy loads directly above it will reduce the chance of any deformation which could be locked in during welding

AIL = Abnormal Indivisible Loads, which is apparently vehicles more than 150 tonnes.

The O/P has said exactly where the green line is. Have another go at reading the TITLE and his FIRST POST.

I can second that there is a green line there, as for its purpose, no idea. Defo not a cycle lane/path, that is on the southbound side.

I normally join the M5 at the Gordano junction if I am going north, and I have to say, I have never noticed the green line. Mind you, being a PH`er I am probably dominating the outside lane by then.

The line starts at the expansion joint which agrees with that explanation.

That really is not a cycle lane.
Whatever made you think it was, as bikes are banned on motorways...

Ah yes, the embarrassment of posting up your own outrage, demonstrating your prejudice about road designers and cyclists means you now need to try and deflect onto anyone who actually responded to your idiocy....

Just a quick "Oops my bad" would have been the far better option OP

You're. The thing with jokes is they're meant to be funny. Not sure where the punch line is.
