Fair point.

My alternative suggestion would be to try and find the whereabouts of a chap called Brian Read. Scottish chap but a midlands resident last I knew. He ran a firm called B.R Motors in the 90s/2000s and was heavily involved in race building XK engines for both professional and enthusiastic amateur alike. Absolutely hilarious man with a lifetime of stories to tell, and more than a little liking of a wee dram. I hope he's still out there, one of life's proper old school characters, and a real nice guy.
