Hi there all,

can you give me a translation on:

a coin used to pay consumptions with - So you pay with money and you'll get coins in return: 1 beer, 1 coin / 1 malt, 4 coins etc.

Are these called coins as well?

I think the word you are looking for is "tokens". Like you would use in a locker at a swimming pool etc.

Do you mean 'change' - item costs £4, you pay £5 and get £1 'change'?

Yup, pretty sure I understand perfectly. You buy coins(tokens) with coins and then exchange them for goods.

Like at a theme park, small rides one token, big rides, four tokens. I'm sure that's what he means.

Let's see:

"a coin used to pay consumptions with - So you pay with money and you'll get coins in return: 1 beer, 1 coin / 1 malt, 4 coins etc."

I wrote that down quick - I'm Dutch so please forgive.

A coin, usually plastic, with which for instance you can pay a beer with. At the entrance of a fair, a party or whatever you hand over say a tenner of real money and get plastic coins in return. So the stuff you'll pay with inside will only be this plastic stuff . . . Tokens it is. The hotelguy told me so when handing over tokens for the sauna . . .

Gawd is it really that bad . . .

In Leusden? Are you kidding me?

There's a nice malt whiskey / cognac / grappa / armagnac / festival oct 8th in our only hotel btw . . .

And that's about as brutal as it gets over here . . .

Well I suppose if you'd just had a few big joints of superskunk this might seem like a great deal.....

Bliar Out, I think I luv ya . . . the rest have all way too much time on their hands. If miscommunication happends within these margins I can easily understand your obviously difficult lives . . .

The ones who can do with half a word . . . in this case half a Dutchmans sentence . . . have my blessing.

A smoke anyone?

Ah we're only kidding Dinkel.

What's that above mind you ? had you had a few hits off your bong pipe when you wrote it ?

At least I tried to learn Dutch, worked in A'Dam and Leuven, waste of time. Nearly everyone who speaks Dutch speaks very good English and even if you try Dutch they just speak back in English. Couple of scenarios..

Me 'Een Jupiler alstublieft'
Waiter ''
Me 'Een Jupiler alstublieft'
Waiter 'Ah you want a Jupiler, ah right OK,' or

Me 'Waar is het toilet ?' (Best Dutch accent)
Girl 'Oh it's up the stairs and first on the right'
Me

Still I know all the colours, I used to work in a place called Yellow !
