Netflix - poor video quality

Only when watching via my computer..... which is a Mac Studio, via 5k Mac monitor, full-beans fibre broadband, super high speed and connected to Mac via ethernet. Have tried WiFi too. Optimised display settings on both Mac and within Netflix itself.
Getting very grainy images at times, lots of artefacts around the subject.
Apple, ITVx and Amazon are all top notch.... and there's no problem on our main TV.
Any ideas?

He paid for 4K Netflix but only got the 1K stream - this is beacuse Netflix only serves 4K streams to specific devices (i.e. closed source approved smart tvs that have to be connected to the Internet).
His TV was not connected to the internet hence 1K stream only. Once he connected (on a separate VLAN) he magically got the 4K stream
hit ctrl+shift+alt+d and Netflix will show you details about the stream (bitrate etc).
