Sports car hire UK-Europe-UK

Apologies if this has been asked before but has anyone had any first hand experience of renting something half descent for a UK to Europe and back road trip on here?

I’m not talking supercar, more sports/saloon car preferably convertible. BMW M/Merc AMG/ Boxster/Cayman etc

Not had much luck with the usual big rental firms.
