Hahaha. Rochester is not too bad. But I do understand what you mean.
Try the A249 Maidstone to Sheerness road over the hills.
Or the A299 Faversham to Herne Bay.
Lane discipline hopeless and if you do over 65 mph you'll stand
out as a speeder.
I could go on, but my point is made.

One of my favourites is the A251 from Faversham down to Ashford. You need to hit it early in the morning though, otherwise it clogs up with 'Sunday' drivers.
Agreed, esp the Challock to Ashford section. But beware, plans are afoot to reduce much of the Faversham to Challock section to 30 MPH.

Grew up there, and glad I left when I did...definitely continuing it's downward spiral. Rochester is OK, and the nicer suburbs of Rainham are habitable, but Chatham and Gillingham...
Nice roads? Not in the urban sprawl - even Hoath Way's a 50-limit now. Best roads are going to be south of the M20, or east of Rainham...some lovely but tight back-roads between Rainham and Sittingbourne.

I hope not. I use that road almost every week, and it feels like ages to get through when you get stuck behind someone doing 40. It would be a nightmare to have to stick to 30!!
I'm going to find out the latest position on this from my local ABD rep. If you're interested in lodging an objection, and this applies to any other PH'er who uses (or may like to use!) this road, please feel free to e mail me through my profile.

For those that go from Faversham to Ashford on the 251, for a nice little drive turn left at the Challock rnd by crossroads motors and the Halfway House and drive to the next rnd and return, its about 6-8 miles of pretty twisty roads
Or turn right at Chilham and come back that way. Not quite so twisty, but nice none-the-less.
Also new - hello! Commiserations on living in the Medway towns, all is not lost though because there are some good roads in Kent but you’ll find them predominantly on the coastal marshes. You’ll have to drive a bit, they’re on and around the East Sussex border, but at least you’d escape Chavham and Rotchester!
Most are unmarked but look at the map; south of Ashford/M20 you have Romney Marsh. Further south again there’s New Romney and on the coast Lydd, Dungeness, Camber and Rye which have a network of unmarked quiet roads that a number of car magazines use for shoots now and again. Quickest way to get to these places from Ashford is down the A2070 to Brenzett then A259 onwards. Since there’s very little to see out there, I remember both these main roads as very quiet, straight and fast save for the odd truck. After you’ve done the marshes come inland to the Kent/East Sussex border villages from Rye – they have lots of good pubs. On the map there’s an unmarked road running from Rye to Appledore, it’s called the Royal Military Canal road locally and that’s one of my favourites. Like most things it’s about exploring and getting the right day!

Blimey, these are all my local runs, great fun when they're empty, I always take my bike for a blast along them as well. Challock apparently are getting those speed camera's that the villagers operate, not sure when that'll be.

Look forward to having some fun with those busybodies!
I can vouch for the Royal Military Canal Road! Awesome!
In fact, as per this thread previously , the road to Rye from Ashford is great if there is no traffic on it. Very smooth, very full of coppers though at peak times gunning bikers.
You mentioned Westerham, not sure if its Westerham, Kent, or not? My homeplace.
If you are ever up this way, try this route. We did it in a convoy of Fireblade powered cars once, very naughty. Must be done nice and early before the farmers f*** the roads up.
Start at "The Botley Hill Farm" Public House near The Ridge, Woldingham., turn right out of the car park and fork left at the mini-roundabout down to Westerham. This little piece of road is quite mad. Map a route that is the most direct to Crowborough via Westerham town centre taking in Edenbridge and Hartfield. If you push, these roads are fantastic and include some low-speed arse-hanging out corners and some nice changes in gradient.
Cant comment on whats beyond Crowborough as I generally spin it round and go back. I have never seen any police. Its even fun in my Vito!

whenI used to live in maidstone:
get up early, and take the A20 from Maidtsone to Charing (via lenham et al). If its clear, great road. Very unliekly, though. Then drive to charing and Ashford.
Again, great road. But its so rare to get a quiet road with nothing on it. I also used to have a girlfriend in hastings. The drive back, via tenterden late at night in the 944 Turbo was one of THE drives of my life. Destered roads, but you needed vrey good headlights

Oh yes, know this road very well. Must be driven at a quiet time, otherwise frustrating. Some great high speed crested curves, too. Just feel the rear end go light as you thread it round.

Its possible to just hit the VTEC zone in 6th when caning a CTR along there. Allegedly.
