Is this an MOT failure (testers reply only pls)

If you mean the crack top left of the screen as you look at the picture, then it depends upon if it falls into what is called - if i remember rightly - Zone A.
This is the part of the screen that is within the drivers vision, any crack in that area used to be a failure - i had a hairline crack about half way down the screen on the same side once and it failed - but as Chris said, find the Ask an MOT Tester thread for a definitive answer.

Yeah, I read this, thing is.. Each windscreen is different in size and people are different heights.. So how to determine zone A? Zone A is a vertical area 290mm wide, centred on the steering wheel and contained within the swept area of the windscreen (this area is 350mm wide on vehicles over 3.5 tonnes); Zone B is the remainder of the swept area of the windscreen.48k said:

What does "swept area" mean? Where the wiper blade sweeps over? If so.. This wiper literally sweeps within a inch from the top of the windscreen. So it sweeps over the crack. ToMeToYou said:

The rules have changed from the rigid ones you are noting. The criteria now is if it does or does not significantly affect the drivers view of the road.
A crack at the top of the screen may slightly affect the view of the sky so it passes.
My DVSA inspector basically says to fail a screen now it needs to look like it has been hit with a baseball bat...
