Jetta diesel dip stick

My father recently handed me his broken plastic dip stick tube from his VW Jetta 1.9 diesel.
I ordered a new one from euro carparts but cannot find where the tab locates.
I have looked on youtube and there are a lot of videos regarding fitting the new tube and where the tab loctes but they all look different from mine which has the tab at the bottom like the one pictured.
Has anyone changed on of these that can tell where it locates please
