Morning chaps.

The time has come for me to have the snip. I'm ok with the procedure itself and the recovery time etc, but I've heard stories from bikers that there's a constant dull ache when on a longish ride around the gooch area.

Can anybody put my mind at ease? I ride a KTM Superduke GT so it's quite comfy compared to some of the sports bikes I've had in the past.

Thanks.

I had a vasectomy last January. Was out on the bike that week (BMW K75, so fairly upright). KTM Superduke GT would probably be fine I think, but give it time to heal a bit and don't ride if there is pain due to the distraction.

It's different for everyone and you won't know until you have it. My brother in law had his and had to take 2 weeks off, said it hurt like hell. He advised I did the same, but mine didn't hurt at all other than a slight prick from the injection and a very light ache for the rest of the afternoon. I cancelled my leave and went straight back to work. Even drove home, it really was that painless.

Best of luck to you, hopefully you're in the majority and it gives no issues. Looking online paints a picture that it's horrible, but I'd imagine those that have trouble would be more vocal.

After a week or so no problem, I had a infection which led to inflammation, seems it's quite common and not the bit you want bigger

Thanks for the replies gents, I'm not expecting to ride for a week or so after the op, I was worried about it still aching / noticing it a year or so after.
Can't remember who it was who told me that biking became unbearable for him after.

Mind very much put at ease, thanks guys.

Being called into action was far more of a worry after the snip than pain whilst riding the bike. Thankfully both were no drama. smokin2

Had it done years ago, no issues at all. Make sure you go somewhere that does the least invasive procedure.

No issues, I think I was back cycling a few days later so a motorbike seat would be a piece of piss!

Did you just hang them either side of the top tube?

Ah you went for the "one nut at a time" option. A bold move.

Went out enduro riding the day after. No problems.
Never had an issue since.
A friend had constant pain after his tho. Luck plays a big role. Cant fault the guy who did mine. Top job.
