I seem to recall some posts saying the stud layout is slightly different. How about clearance with 245's on the back?

I'm thinking about getting a set for the 400SX for daily use so I can keep the split rims pristine for rallies etc.

Also it'll be easier to find decent rubber for 16 inchers.

I believe it was stated that they wouldn't seat properly, due to the slight difference in PCD.
Might appear to fit, but not really safe.

Yeah, just clout the studs with a 7-pounder till everything lines up!

You can always weld them on too remember...

(seriously though, I think the PCD is a couple of mmm different, and general opinion was to avoid fitting such wheels to a wedge)

Anyone tried finding/fitting/manufacturing adapter plates/new hubs?

The pcd is 2.13mm different on the Cerb wheels (the difference between 112m and 4 1/2". I have acquired a set and there is plenty of meat to allow for remachining the seats for the nuts.

It's actually the difference between a 3" square a 4.5" dia circle.

You might be better off checking that your SEAC engine fits in the T350

Sorry, yes I got confused. 1.15mm offset per hole. Well with the bounds of remachinability. I've had a cerb wheel offered onto a wedge hub and I didn't have to belt anything with a club hammer.

It does need the angled seat recutting to the offset to make it safe though. There is plenty of meat in the wheel centre to do this. It's easy to write the program for a numerically controlled drilling rig to do this with a suitably ground end mill cutter. If enough people are interested, I'll happily acquire more sets and get a job lot machined in one go.
I reckon it'll cost a lot less than an aftermarket set of other make wheels. And at least there are original TVR wheels, if not originally intended for the wedge.

Say around £250 per set all in depending on acquisition prices. Anyone interested?

You also want to check offsets and that the body doesn't foul the wheels otherwise it could be a very expensive mistake. It also may upset the geometries especially the front which has virtually no adjustment to compensate.

Yeah that was the second half of my question - having put them on, will they foul the wheelarches? Does anyone know the offsets on the cerbie wheels?

I suppose the fouling can be checked pre-milling by fitting the wheel on and jacking up the suspension under that corner, then turning the wheel, and also the steering wheel if at the front.

I could have sworn that I once worked the offset out to be 40mm, but that was on the original Telcast wheels from a Tasmin...

Yep, I measured the ET on my old telacasts with a plank of wood and a pencil, and used same method on the MSW wheels. Not very accurate but I got the following:

14" Telacasts: ET between 38 and 40mm
15" MSW: ET between 22 and 24 mm

So - correct me if I'm wrong - the 280's with 14" wheels have a 40mm offset, and the 350's with 15" wheels have a 23mm offset. All on the same front suspension.

So - how does the offset affect the front suspension, exactly?

Just to help clarify:

The set of Telecasts that wedg1e used to own, that jchase subsequently owned before selling them onto myself who then sold them on to chassis33, only clear the solid type brakes and calipers on the 280i with 14" wheels.

On 280s with vented discs and bigger calipers, as mine had, a different offset is required, similar to that on the Tiv lattice wheels, or spacers fitted.

So front brakes need checking for clearance too.

Presumably with 15" wheels the problem won't arise.

I'd be interested. Cerby wheels already fitted, but probably not that safe. Regular checks haven't shown any probs.
