Entries flood in Roger Albert Clark Rally

The entry list for the 2025 Roger Albert Clark rally has broken the 200 mark after entries opened on Friday evening (March 7). The maximum entry for the five-day rally is 180 cars for a route of around 350 stage miles running from November 20-24. The initial draft entry list will be published on Monday, March 24.

In just 48 hours, a total of 205 entries were received for the main five-day event, with a further 22 entries for the MINI Challenge Kielder Rally, which will cover 43 stage miles on Saturday November 22.
Entries poured in from across the UK, Ireland, Europe and around the world, including entries from South Africa, Australia and the USA. Significantly, 28 entries have been taken from overseas crews, with a group of cars from Italy including three of the new Lancia Ypsilon Rally4s, three cars from the Czech Republic and two Ford Escorts from Australia. In all, 48 types of car are represented in the list.
Prospective entrants are required to pay a £1000 deposit to secure a place on the initial entry list, and the great majority of the 205 entrants to date have already paid their deposit.

Rally manager Colin Heppenstall said: “We're overjoyed by the response. We're very pleased that competitors from all over the world want to come and do the Roger Albert Clark Rally.”
Entries for the rally remain open as there will inevitably be some withdrawals in the build up to the event. However, it is expected that the drop-out rate will be less than in previous years.
Importantly, the Open Rally for two-wheel-drive non-historic and four-wheel-drive historic Category 4 cars is very well supported. The quality of the entry matches the quantity with many leading contenders. A number of star names are expected to join the entry list and more details of those will be announced in due course.

A friend has entered in his HSR, waiting to see if the entry will be accepted.

I’m going to be doing something, just don’t know what.

Entry is in, just a wait of a few weeks to see where we'll be on list, or on reserve list. It seems so far away still but I've a fair amount of planning/organising/sorting vehicles to do between now and then.

The idea was concocted the day after the Mull rally last year - I was trying to talk my driver there (Lewis) into driving on the RAC but then his service crew suggested we swap seats... and it grew from there. I was sober at the time too!

No, sorry laugh

Sober on the Sunday after Mull? I’m guessing you were in the ‘Mish after a few pints rofl

Roger Albert Clark Rally entry extended to 200 cars
Roger Albert Clark Rally said:
The 2025 Roger Albert Clark Rally will feature the biggest entry on a UK rally for nearly three decades after the capacity for the rally was extended from 180 to 200 cars.
Following overwhelming demand for places, the November 19-24 event will now start with a maximum of 200 cars, allowing the first 20 reserves shown on the provisional entry list to move up to a guaranteed place. All remaining reserves will move up accordingly.

Not sure of this is good or bad, 200 is a lot of cars, they must have planned for it with service areas etc, but that'#s going to take an awfully long time to get through some stages, the long ones could be 4 plus hours.

Surprised to see only one Fulvia on the entry list - definitely one of historic rallying's sharpest tools these days.

Rallying an XJS V12. Respect ! I remember watching Tony Fowkes wrestling a Mercedes 450 SLC Merc around a snowy Tour of Epynt in January 1977 and at that time thought that it was an unlikely choice as a (non endurance/marathon) rally car. But, frozen on the side of a Welsh mountain, I'm sure my then-girlfriend regarded me as an unlikely choice of boyfriend...

If you Google "Abbott Jaguar" you will enter a great website that documents the rallying XJS's transition from a road car in 2015. I didn't previously realise that Ed Abbott was the same guy who provided me with so many (Abbott Racing) tuning parts when I enjoyed a decade or so of running fast-road Saabs back in the 80/90's. I spent a lot of money up in Manningtree - but every penny was worth it.

Abbott is the type of character that makes British motorsport tick over so nicely.
