Hello all,

I'm after some shed supplier advice please. We need a new garden shed, which I'm going to use as part storage, part workshop. My intention is to have racking down one length for storage, and a workbench down the other length.

I'm after some advice for decent suppliers please. I don't want to go full 'Posh Sheds' and spend thousands, but want something that's better quality than the usual B&Q offering. Looking at something around 12'x8' (ish). For context, we live in an older property, so something in keeping in timber would be nice. I'm happy to build from a 'flat pack / kit' and will install an MOT and wooden base.

I'm in Cheshire, so if anyone knows of a local company, even better.

Thanks all,

gmaz

I've bought 3 sheds from https://www.tigersheds.com/ and have been happy with them.

I bought a 10 x 8 Premium Shiplap Pent Shed from Waltons about 18 months ago.

I put it up myself and have been very happy with it. Good instruction booklet, decent quality.

For something more solid how about looking at log cabins?

Have you been to the Rowlinson outlet / factory on the A51 near Nantwich? I've not needed to visit for a few years (I got a couple of log stores from there) but they had a big display of stuff if you want to have a look at the quality.

There’s a company who ship Garden Buildings Direct to your house. I forget the name…

Don’t use them whatever you do. Even when they finally admit to sending the wrong bits, making your shed impossible to assemble, they leave you waiting 3 months to collect it and refund you. Useless.

I used these guys 5 years ago. Shed looks as good as the day it was put up.

They custom made it to my drawing.

Can't remember the cost, would have been under a grand though. They're near glasgow so might take a bit of persuading to deliver.

Might be a bit more effort initially than buying online but try some local garden centres.

I had a custom built pent roof shiplap shed to fit an area roughly 10x9 built by one. All in it cost was £1050 that included, wood stain / treatment, delivery, roof felt, locks etc... and them building the shed in place for me. Three years later it still looks pretty much brand new except a bit of fading from the sun.

Very impressed with my shed from www.easyshed.co.uk

I needed a custom size (long and narrow) you can customise their shed on the website. My is 12ft long and 5ft wide. Its very robust (security shed) and cost about £1700 installed about 3 years ago.

I bought a 12x8 pent roof one from Brierley Hill Sheds pre-covid. Price has obviously rocketed since then, but the quality was decent.

Another vote for TigerSheds.

Went together easy enough and loads of sizes and styles available and it came in the top colour (tge orangey one).

Decent prices as well.

Thanks, I want a pent roof shed with double door on the end wall, as per that photo, but I want it in the lighter natural timber colour wood to match with other timber in my garden. Shame, as it looks just what I want.

Really pleased with ours from Holmes Chapel Fencing and Sheds. Can make custom sizes and designs if required.

Build your own. It won't take a huge amount longer and will be 10x more robust.

Built mine over 2 days, for about £600 that included a slate roof, guttering and ply lining the inside. Still looks exactly the same as it did in 2018.

12 years ago I bought a shed from these guys. https://www.regencytimberbuildings.co.uk/.htm. They are near Wrexham. Very good service, the shed is still fine after 12 years. Good quality and made from decent strong materials.
