Bought it last year, since had to spend a bit more on service/belt change, new discs and pads all round and a new set of Michelin PS5s. It's a full manual so relatively rare (less than 1000 came to the UK I think). I love it and plan on keeping it long term

Cheers! Will try and get some interior pics soon. She runs very nicely, it's the first properly quick car I've owned and the thing pulls like a train. In normal mode it's already quick, overtaking and such hassle free. In dynamic mode though it really comes alive, the steering weights up and the throttle response is super sharp so even a light prod and it's lurching for the horizon. It's a bit of handful in all honesty (for me anyway haha).

Lovely motor Mr E and a fine choice of colour! Love the wheels too, they are almost impossible to get now.

I've had a 147 before in Alfa Rosso and was originally intending to stick with the red when looking for a Giulietta. Saw this one in white and it blew me away, it really brings out every detail of the bodywork. Bugger to keep clean though.

My wheels need a refurb.
I actually don’t like the throttle mapping. Normal has a (deliberate) flat spot and shunts at low speed. Dynamic compresses most of the response into the first 50% of travel.

Engine delivery is quite dieselly, will pull 6th cleanly from 1200rpm.

I had a look at these before buying my 308 gti, I was really impressed, far better than the reviews would have you believe. Just a shame the rear legroom is so small.
Also, all the ones I went to see were proper enthusiasts cars, stacks of paperwork, all had good matching and branded tyres etc.

Got one of these as the family wagon. I quite like it, shame the engine is all torque and no revs but it does get a move on. I think if it a bit like a GT hatch as opposed to a hot hatch, suspension is quite soft and comfy it's good for doing miles in. Would be interesting to see how it felt with aftermarket springs and dampers to firm it up.

I’m actively looking for one of these at the moment. The early Cloverleaf model with low miles/owners. I think they’re a really undervalued and underrated car. Even toying with the idea of bringing one in from Japan!

Really like these. My parents had a 'Veloce' when they stopped making the Cloverleaf, so the same 1750tbi engine etc. Great to throw around.

Only thing I recall bugging me was the sheer size of the steering wheel. Felt absolutely huge!

We've had ours for three years or so and I really quite like it. Agree these are underrated cars.

It is from a truck.
The boy has modified ours with funky door projection lights.
I need to replace the boot button and badge for the mono version I have to match the front

I have foolishly bought a car I can modify again.

The Squadra Tuning remap is supposed to be a brilliant additional for this car.

https://squadra-tuning.nl/chiptuning/alfa-romeo/gi...

Part of remap changes the throttle mapping too. Worth a read.

The plan, if I can find a really good one, would be map, intake, exhaust, uprated suspension and a Q2/Quaife/Wavetrac diff. When these first came out, compared to the MK6 Golf GTi, they were lighter, had more power and torque, but seemed to have been let down a little by the handling. I think a few choice mods in that department would fix the issue and make it a great all rounder.

The engine is pretty quick in dynamic mode, it's lovely and smooth but quick diesel-like in that it doesn't really reward being revved out - and it sounds pretty average (although the turbo whooshes are fun in D). The suspension is soft and it's underdamped IMO, my first port of call would be shocks and springs (and maybe ARBS). It does work very nicely as a comfy daily as standard.

Brakes are excellent, an exhaust might add a bit of drama too. You can't turn off the tractio control so I don't know how it would deal with a diff tbh. Might get tied up in knots unless you can code it out.

No issue fitting an uprated diff. As they can tolerate more than the “e-diff” that’s factory fitted, ie, braking the wheel with more slip, this won’t come into activation. No coding needed. Quite a few have fitted the Quaife to the C635 box with great results.

My previous MK5 GTi had a Wavetrac fitted and its night and day compared to a standard car. They transform them.
