I've recently changed provider for my SIPP and ISA from HL to ii.
Unfortunately all the transaction data and % changes in investments over the years doesn't seem to carry over.
Is this to be expected?
I still have the GIA with HL but there's no historical data kept for the closed accounts. This is particularly relevant at the moment as I'm trying to find out how much more I can put into the SIPP before tax year ends. It takes a week for them to supply the answer rather than me being able to see the closed account details.

Yes, I've found this to be the case over several financial institutions - you lose all past information. Can you look at bank statements to see if funds were transferred?

With ii it’s hard to track anyway, I take screen shots quite regularly. But probably tracking in something external would be better.

I wouldn't expect them to transfer historical info but you can probably ask them to set an "average" unit price for the investments so you see the gain.

I did this when I moved to IWeb and they did it pretty much immediately but of course it assumes you know the average unit price.

That's like opening a new Bank account, and expecting the new Bank to retain all your historical transactions and statements from the old Bank...

Your bank statements will answer this in no time at all.

Fair enough...
Statement doesn't differentiate between SIPP and ISA deposits
