I've just moved into a new house and the previous owner has the fibre box in the hall way cupboard and then has that going into a 24 gang network switch.

I'm trying to confirm that they are actually go to, as they didn't leave a plan.

Especially as there's 8 ethernet ports in the lounge alone.

Is there like a plug thing i can put in and then test what goes there.

Yes:

Plug each half in via a patch cable at either end and if connected the lights will cycle through.
Also has the benefit you can check the previous owner wired them up correctly.

Ideally spend a little more and get a Ethernet cable toner. Most include the other basic continuity functions as well once you identify the correct cable.

This one works, and lasted about 6 months with a particularly dense apprentice, i swear that boy could break a fking anvil if you told him it was important not to.

For a little bit more the klein is lovely. Build quality to last a lifetime.
