Workbench build question
Discussion
Hi all
I am finally going to build a workbench to go in one of our barns, something like this
https://youtu.be/O16pe3NiUaU?si=WtDznWARrucrE_kg

There are lots on YouTube but I can’t seem to find the answer to my question about dimensions. In the video he builds it 1.8m long (because it is the wood he has), my question is could I build it 2,4m without adding a central leg?
The legs will be 4*4
The framing and any noggins 4*2
The top will be 18mm ply
Back and sides 11mm OSB
Thanks.

It will depend on a number of factors, including whether you're going to fix it to the wall and floor (I usually do) and how you're strengthening it internally / at the rear.
Tip: If you're building a wood workbench, fit angle bar along the front edge. It not only makes it more robust it gives you a hard edge to work against when you want it.
