I'm sure this may be small fry compared to others, my new telly, a 'cheap' 75" hisense which my partner bought be for my birthday... Had it up for a week or two temporarily before decorating the room. Finished room, put it up. One broke telly...

It must have been victim to me moving it around the room although nothing notable in my recollection!

So. Effin. Gutted! - a grand down the drain!!

Beat my misery and make me feel better!

It's your own fault for going to watch Rugby League.

Bought a new coat in last years spring sale, wore it once, then the weather improved and I didn't need it all summer. Come autumn, I put it on and find I've put on a cupola stone over the summer and it doesn't fit.
Not that expensive, but stupid enough to qualify for the thread!

If stupid qualifies, on Friday as I swing my leg over my motorbike I felt my phone sat ‘portrait’ in my coat pocket which means it sticks into the rope of your leg when riding.

I couldn’t be bothered taking my glove off to sort it. at the time I did not know that said pocket was not fastened.

According to the last reported ‘find my’ location I reckon it got run over multiple times on the motorway.

Replacement was over a grand, but more than that I hadn’t backed up since October since which time I have had 2 very memorable and unrepeatable holidays. That annoys me more and I have yet to forgive myself for being a stupid lazy git.

A number of minor mishaps and general unluckiness in life, but one of my own doing was a hard launch in my old 370Z off the lights.
Clutch subsequently went to the floor. Managed to change out the fluid and get mobile but in the end did cost me a new clutch + labour from Nissan.
My bad.

Lost both the keys for my motorbike. New locks and programming to Honda's HISS immobiliser. £600 down.

Other ones include reversing my car into a lamp post outside of a cop shop (£1k for parts, labour, respray). Forgetting my credit card PIN at Pisa Airport so having to do a spot hire with somewhere that would take a debit. All in that was about £400 wasted.

Therapy. Paid privately for about a year, didn't make me feel better about myself or give me the tools to do so. As you'll have read, I own my fk ups, but what I need is to not make mistakes in the first place.

Though if I waste my own money, that's my problem. I'd rather do that than waste other people's time. You don't get forgiven for that and you end up lonely.

Might your phone have been backing up photos to Google or OneDrive automatically? Or to Apple equivalents if an iPhone?

Saved up £6k to buy a new to me Nova GSi smile . Insurance wanted TC1 immob fitted for TPFT. Got it booked in for fitting next day and was only insured TP til then. Car got nicked overnight and razzed round Seacroft before the s set it alight. 2 years of savings gone in 24 hours. I was nearly crying.

Ouch! I think I would have been sleeping in the car though until the immobiliser had been fitted.

Oh really? I have been to Cuba too and the ESTA process was about 24 hours longer, but it didn't effect me going to the USA. They did ask me some questions at the immigration booth in Houston, but only really about where I was staying.

Going back many years , I seem to write that a lot as I get older .

I parked my restored mg midget outside a train station on a Sunday afternoon to go in and buy tickets for an early train on Monday morning. Its so far back ,ticked were a thing before phones you know.

When I came back out the car had rolled backwards, down a hill, across a road and stopped its self dead centre rear up a lamppost , just short of a shop window .

I remembered at that point I had not re attached the handbrake cable at the lever after adjustments that morning.
