Classic Bike Show - Staffordshire
Discussion
I'll be going. It is more geared towards theslightly older stuff but there is later and modern classics there too.
For anyone interested in the older stuff they're planning to have one of (if not the) largest display of SS100 Brough Superiors ever seen in one place to mark the 100th anniversary of the model

I've been on a number of occasions with my Dad and it's always been a good day out. There is always something for sale that really makes wish I'd brought a van, though. Last time it was an absolutely mint 1990s Triumph Trident in green and cream.
The stalls are pretty good too. I found a pair of very rare stainless Motad silencers for my Triumph T100 black. apparently they only made a few sets before going under, I believe.
They sounded epic btw.
I think I'll pop along myself.

I stopped going there many years ago when the event outgrew the venue,
theres always miles long tailbacks on approach to the show, last time i was there (2014) i queued for an hour to get through the turnstiles, and it is usually uncomfortably and potentially dangerously overcrowded inside,i would bet its even worse now.
Also take your own food as the onsite vendors prices are scandalous.

Weird, I’ve been the last few years (since Covid) and not queued to get in and it definitely wasn’t ‘dangerously’ over crowded. The opposite if anything!theres always miles long tailbacks on approach to the show, last time i was there (2014) i queued for an hour to get through the turnstiles, and it is usually uncomfortably and potentially dangerously overcrowded inside,i would bet its even worse now.

Can’t argue the cost of food is high but that’s the same at any event now. I put a cheese roll in my pocket last year but still had a burger

I distinctly remember one year one of the halls was so packed full it was nearly impossible to move and i thought that if a fire was to break out then there would have been a very dangerous situation arisingCan’t argue the cost of food is high but that’s the same at any event now. Another time i was stuck in a tailback of traffic for 2 miles at less than walking speed on the a518 from the village of Weston to the showground
The show should have been moved to the NEC many years ago

I’ve never had trouble getting in or out. Dangerously overcrowded is nonsense. Food is much the same at any show to be honest.
Obviously you weren't there on the day in question What happens when a fire breaks out in a large overcrowded enclosed space?
People panic and try to get to the exits all at once and it doesn't end well
